Centre for Anthropology and Photography

Project Description:

The Centre for Anthropology and Photography aims to promote the archiving of anthropological fieldwork photographs, to work with anthropologists on the documentation and digitization of their collections, and to make them available for other researchers and indigenous communities online.

The Centre is located within the University of Oxford's Pitt Rivers Museum, which houses extensive collections of ethnographic photography. This location allows the Centre to draw on the expertise of the Museum's curators and conservators, as well as the wider academic community within the University of Oxford and its facilities and resources, such as the Bodleian Library.

If you are interested in archiving your fieldwork material, or have any questions about the activities of the Centre, please email the department.
